What is TRIAMCINOLONE ACETONIDE (CREAM) USP,0.5%?

What condition is it for? I found this in my girlfriends medicine cabinet. What is TRIAMCINOLONE ACETONIDE (CREAM) USP,0.5%?
Triamcinolone is a steroid drug. It reduces swelling and decreases the body's immune response. It also comes in several different forms (ointments, creams, lotions, oral medication, injections, etc.)

Triamcinolone is used in the treatment of many different conditions. It can be used to treat many immune and allergic disorders, such as allergic reactions, skin reactions, arthritis, bursitis, tenosynovitis, gout, lupus, psoriasis, asthma, ulcerative colitis, multiple sclerosis, Crohn's disease, and others.

Check out this site for more information on the drug:

Great answer by the pharmacy tech! My question is why are you snooping in her med. cabinet and shouldn't you just ask her? Seems to be an easier conversation to have rather than I snooped and found out.......from a Dr. who prescribes Triamcinolone. Report Abuse

Still a great answer. Exactly what I needed to know. As far as snooping in the girls cab-everybody snoops to some degree. A medicine cab is really within the bounds of decent behavior. It's sort of a ';cool, what all is in here'; thing. Hide it elsewhere if afraid of it being seen. Report Abuse

Triamcinolone is used to treat the itching, redness, dryness, crusting, scaling, inflammation, and discomfort of various skin conditions.
It is a steroidal cream, used for allergic skin conditions like eczema.
