Is it safe to use lotrimin AF [clotrimazole cream] on the head of my penis. I think i have a yeast infection?

email from a gentleman who, on the advice of a doctor, had tried using an over-the-counter vaginal cream (Monistat) to treat his penile yeast infection. i guess he just rubbed the stuff on the outside of his penis. anyway, he said that it didn't work at all until he added a few drops of white vinegar to it to a small blob of cream, and then it worked overnight.

he also warned against applying straight vinegar, which eats right through the skin. 'nuff said.

since posting that suggestion, i've received quite a few emails from people whose doctors have recommended applying Monistat directly to the surface of the penis to cure yeast infections. most say it works finehe most common symptom is irritation and soreness of the head of the penis. apparently it can itch like crazy, too.

Symptoms: discharge, including clumpy white stuff, also, the head of the penis may turn reddish or get little blistery things.

Male yeast infection normally occurs after sexual contact or intercourse with women who have the yeast infection. These yeast infections are minor problems. Male yeast infections can be treated with ointments and anti fungal creams. There are many prescription drugs available in the market which are known to treat penile yeast infections. Such yeast infection is also called as Candidiasis.

Hope this helps.

Yes it's safe. You just have to be very thorough to apply it around the penis head for several days until itching and other symptoms disappear. Pull the foreskin down and apply amply. You can also use other creams/lotions that are available (Monistat). Is it safe to use lotrimin AF [clotrimazole cream] on the head of my penis. I think i have a yeast infection?
I can almost guarantee you that you will know if you have a yeast infection. My boyfriend had one once and it almost looked like herpes, to be honest. If you're unsure, go to the doctor or a clinic. You don't want to put any medicated creams on you if you don't know that's even what you have.
